How about going to the schools and speaking with the Head teacher, and giving talks and tours around areas near them. I work in a school, and we try to get the children involved with gardening, and all that comes with it, to help them appreciate their surroundings a bit more!
Tree Breaking round Oakley Vale - Ideas to stop it please

They had a) no idea how useful trees are as a carbon sink and producer of Oxygen and b) that it cost CBC £200 to replace a tree, which can only be done between November to March. Does anyone have any ideas how we can get this message across to more than just 3 teenagers on a sunny June evening ? I appreciate that many people would not feel happy going up to 3 young people. I would not have done it myself if a large male neighbour had not been very nearby and I told him what I was about to do and asked him to stay near. All suggestions gratefully recieved. I'd like to get some help from the local schools and parents but can't think of quite what. If anyone has any ideas and can bring them to our meeting on Wed that would be great. Otherwise please contact me via this forum. Thank you. Judy Caine, Chair.

Do have a selection of small tree seedlings, some of them fruit, that could be adopted by a family to grow on in a pot at home until they are large enough to plant out on the Estate. They would need potting on every couple of years into larger pots eventually up to a 30 litre size. Depending on the type of tree, would be considering a period of four to about seven years. If interested speak to me at the next Open Meeting.Posted 1 year ago #

Have a selection of trees of different sizes if any person would like to have one for planting in their garden. I\'m starting to run out of space in my own garden so if anyone knows of someone or somewhere they can be planted out to grow on to a size that can safely be planted out on the Estate. Please get in touch.
