It's that time of year when some of us are not only planning for the future of our own garden but also planning towards the the future of our Estate. The likelyhood of getting allotments on our estate is ongoing and is looking more likely based on the information that has been passed on to me in the last few days, but for an update you will need to come to our next open meeting in July as I should have more information by then.
I have also in my possesion several young seedlings that are looking for a home whilst they grow on and become saplings.
Also at present I'm elswhere collecting more young trees that have self seeded in family and friends gardens to bring back for planting in Oakley Vale. So in due course, anyone who is willing to give one of these young trees a home in their garden till they have grown and matured to a size that is safe to plant out on the Estate then speak to me at our next open meeting in July.
If you also know of family or friends who have young trees that they no longer wish to have in their gardens then let us know when they have dug them up so that instead of composting them they can be found a new home here in Oakley Vale.

As this years growing season draws to a close and youv'e planted up any new plants for next season, don't throw out the discarded Plant Pots. Have planted up a lot of seeds that I hope will germinate and produce seedlings for next year, which in time will be planted out around the Estate. Always in need of Plant Pots, any size, so please let me have any you no longer wish to keep. If you can bring them along to our next Open meeting on the 25th, I'll be there. Otherwise get in touch as I'm happy to collect.

Still require plant pots, especially the larger sizes. So if you have any you want to give away, please get in touch. With the periods of dry weather this year like every other gardener had a problem with watering the plants. Have gone some way to resolve the problem by get some large water tanks for storing more rain water but now need hosepipes and fittings to connect them all together. So if anyone has any old bits of hosepipe and fittings for hoses or water butts no longer needed, please get in touch.
